Welcome to project-based philanthropy
The Pighetti Project is focused on funding specific initiatives or programs that align with our mission of directly serving first responders and their families. This approach ensures that donors can see tangible results and track the impact of their contributions.
Our promise to you
Donors may opt-in to projects and choose how their donation is directed.
Projects are born from First Responder surveys and Committee-based directives.
Funds are collected and administered by the SB Foundation for total transparency.
Projects now funding
Peer Support Training
Called the first line of defence, trained Peer Support personnel offer the essential connection for post-event trauma. Having trained co-workers who speak your language and can offer tools for emotional, psychological and practical decompression has proven the most successful form of support.
Equine Therapy
Offering wellness programs to augment peer support is critical to first responder resiliency. Studies have shown that equine-based programs sharpen and improve; empathy, non-verbal communication, self-confidence, negotiation and partnering skills.
Respite Homes for families
A unique opportunity to reconnect with one’s family is only a “respite house” away. Having a place in nature, with time to share new family experiences is sometimes the first step in strengthening the bonds that hold you close.

Support with Socks
Our campaign to collect new, wool socks for the L.A. Firefighters had an overwhelming response from around the Country! Partnering with REI Santa Barbara, REI Oxnard and Deckers Showcase, we have collected and delivered hundreds socks to the brave front line… they even got a special visit from Donuts the therapy dog.

Us
With a commitment to carry on the work of Tony Pighetti, our small, volunteer-run organization took shape in December, 2023.
Believing that each positive effort can carry with it a measure of hope and healing, we embarked on a journey of learning. Informing our work are dozens of firefighters, police officers and sheriff deputies. Hearing from them is key to ensuring our projects are targeted and optimized for their needs and the needs of their families.
